# Recipe books, exercise swaps and Google settings for your website

**Group your recipes into books and share them with clients, let clients swap to the alternatives you list, and choose how your website looks on Google. Plus course lessons that open week by week, view-only course files, video replies to check-ins, email alerts and faster food logging.**

![Recipe books, exercise swaps and Google settings for your website](https://boostfitness.io/_vercel/image?url=%2Fblog%2Frecipe-books-exercise-swaps-google-settings.png&w=1536&q=80)

You can now put your recipes into books and share them with a client, a group, a course or a chat. Clients can swap an exercise for one of the alternatives you listed, without asking you first. Your website gets a Google & SEO tab, and your courses can hold lessons that open week by week. Your clients' food logger got quicker, and you can now reply to a check-in with a video.

## Recipe books

Open Nutrition > Recipes and you'll see a new Recipe books tab. Make a book, call it something like "High-protein lunches", and add recipes to it. Recipes can carry tags too, like Vegan or Under 20 minutes, and you'll find old tags as suggestions when you add new ones.

Share a book or a single recipe from the book's Assign button, from a group's page, from a course's Recipes tab or from the chat paperclip. Clients find their books in Add food > Recipes, open one, and add what they cook straight to their diary. Your shares turn up in their bell, and a chat share shows as a card in the chat.

New recipes now stay private until you share them. Any recipes you already had stay visible to clients, the same as before. In the meal plan builder, book chips at the top filter the recipe list, which helps once you have a lot of them.

Recipe books come with the Plus plan.

## Let clients swap exercises

You've always been able to list alternatives for an exercise in the workout builder. Clients couldn't see them, which made the list a bit pointless. Now, when an exercise has alternatives, the logger shows a Swap pill next to Rest. One tap opens the options, and one more swaps the exercise. Sets and ticks stay where they were.

This works on workouts you've locked as well. Clients still can't change your sets or reps, only switch to an exercise you picked.

[**Import workouts**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/import-clients-recipes-meal-days-streaks) reads alternatives now too. Write "goblet squat 3 x 12, alternative is leg press" and leg press lands in the alternatives instead of the notes. "Alt:", "or" and "swap for" work the same way.

## Courses with lessons

On Plus, a course can now hold modules and lessons. Open a course in Website > Courses, go to Content, and use the Lessons block. A lesson gets a title, a YouTube or Vimeo link (or an uploaded video), some words and files.

Each module has its own Opens setting, so a 12-week course can open one module a week from the day someone joins. Clients find their courses at the top of their Library, open a lesson and tap Mark as done. You see their progress on their profile. Visitors to your course page see the outline under What's inside, titles only.

There's a new course type for this, Online Self-Paced: a course clients work through alone, with no group chat and no sessions to book.

### View-only files

PDFs, pictures and videos on a course now have a Clients can download switch. Turn it off and clients open the file inside Boost instead of saving it. PDFs show page by page, and videos play without a download button. The switch starts on, so nothing changes until you flip it. "How view-only works" under the files explains the limits.

### Smaller course changes

- Drag your courses into the order you want on your website, from the Courses section editor.
- A new course saves nothing until you click Save course. Close it early and Boost asks first.
- A group course can now have up to 60 class times, up from 20.

## Your website on Google

Website settings has a new Google & SEO tab. Set the home page title and description Google shows, the site language, your blog page heading and intro, and your Search Console code. There's also a switch that asks search engines to leave your site out, if you're not ready.

Each box starts filled with what your site already uses, so you only change what you want. Every box has Reset to default, and Reset all puts the whole tab back. Your site's language now follows your country too, so a Canadian coach's site says en-CA instead of en-GB.

The blog editor got some upgrades as well:

- Tables, for things like a weekly plan or a price list.
- Pictures anywhere in a post, from your device or your library.
- Back-dating. Publish now has a date box that takes today or any earlier day, which is handy if you're moving old posts over.

Sections now open in a side panel next to the page, so you can see your change as you make it. List sections like courses, testimonials and photos have Layout options: a grid or a slider, how many to a row, how many rows, and auto-play.

## Reply to check-ins with a video

On Plus, you can now reply to a check-in from the review itself, with a recorded video. Record your camera, or on Chrome and Edge, your screen with your face in a bubble in the corner. Talk them through their form photos or their week's numbers. You can watch it back, trim it, or start again before you send.

A recording runs up to 5 minutes. Where a browser can't record the screen, the button tells you why when you click it.

## Emails when something needs you

Account > Notifications lets you get an email when something rings your bell: a check-in, a form, a new client, a booking, a sale, a personal best, or Meta and Stripe needing you. Each one can arrive straight away, in one morning summary, or both. Chat emails come at most once an hour.

Only Meta and Stripe are on to start with, because those two can stop you getting paid or stop your ads. Everything else is off until you turn it on.

## Faster food logging

On the coach side, New food can fill itself from a photo of a nutrition label. Take a photo or choose one, and Boost reads the name, serving and macros per 100 g. It marks anything that doesn't add up so you can check it. Your Foods page now opens on Yours, your own foods, with an All foods tab for everything else.

Your clients get five new ways to log food:

- Snap a meal: they take a photo of the plate, and Boost guesses what's on it and how much, ready to check and log.
- Describe: they type "two eggs on toast and a coffee" and get the same.
- Scan a label, for foods that aren't in the library yet. A barcode that isn't found offers this straight away.
- Favourites, for the foods and recipes they eat all the time.
- Copy a meal or a day. Same breakfast every day? Log it once and copy it forward.

## 12 new diet meal plans

Boost's [**ready-made meal plans**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/ready-made-meal-plans-food-diary) now include 12 built around diets: Mediterranean, anti-inflammatory, hormone balance, autoimmune protocol, low FODMAP, gluten-free, dairy-free, high-protein vegan, pescatarian, DASH style, low GI and keto. They use foods you can buy in most countries. Find them in your meal plan library on Plus.

## In your clients' app

- Each Progress tab now leads with one big graph, and every small card opens a graph page of its own. Clients can drag through time and switch between days, weeks and months.
- The Goals tab shows each goal's progress over 6 months, with the habits that help it as 30-day dot strips.
- The weigh-in sheet now just says to weigh at the same time each day.

## Fixes and polish

- On the Clean website design, a hero picture set to Behind now fills the hero, and the words show up in white on top of it.
- Deleting a photo, testimonial, team member, FAQ or video from the website builder now takes you back to the list.
- Typing inside a new blog table no longer kicks you out of it.

## Lifetime deal

The lifetime deal closed on 1 November. If you bought it, nothing changes for you. Thank you for backing us early. New coaches now start with a free trial of our monthly plans.
