We shipped the [**Meal Planner**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/mobile-workout-builder-worldwide-payments) last week, which gave you the tools to build a plan. The obvious next question was why you should have to build the first one at all. So this release comes with fourteen plans already in your account, and a rebuilt food diary on the other end for the clients who follow them.

## Fourteen meal plans, already built

Open Nutrition and then Meal Plans, and you'll now find a Boost Fitness library sitting alongside your own. Every plan is a full seven-day week with real meals and exact portions, not a macro target with a note attached.

Eight of them are built around a goal:

- Fat Loss, Balanced Deficit at roughly 1,600 kcal and 150g protein
- Fat Loss, High Protein at roughly 1,800 kcal and 180g protein
- Low Carb Fat Loss at roughly 1,700 kcal, under 90g carbs
- Maintenance, Balanced at roughly 2,200 kcal
- Performance, Training Fuel at roughly 2,500 kcal with 300g+ carbs
- Lean Bulk at roughly 2,800 kcal and 190g protein
- Big Appetite Bulk at roughly 3,200 kcal and 210g protein
- Vegetarian, Balanced at roughly 2,000 kcal, still hitting 140g protein

The other six are locked to a calorie and protein number instead, from 1,500 kcal and 120g protein up to 3,000 kcal and 200g protein, for when you already know the target and just want a week of food that hits it.

They're built from ordinary food your clients can buy on a Tuesday. Protein oats, chicken and rice bowls, salmon and potatoes, and sixteen new recipes that came with them: Turkey Bolognese, Blueberry Protein Porridge, Tofu and Cashew Stir-Fry, Halloumi and Mediterranean Veg Traybake, and others. Those recipes are in your recipe library too, so you can drop them into plans of your own.

Assign one as it is, or duplicate it first and change whatever you want. The Boost Fitness copies stay read-only so you can't accidentally edit the version everyone else is using, and there's a new provider filter on the page to keep our plans and your plans apart.

Meal Plans is on the Plus and Pro plans.

## The food diary, rebuilt

The [**food diary**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/nutrition-food-diary-recipes-library) worked, but it asked your clients to make a decision before they could do anything: pick the meal card first, then find the food. On a phone, mid-meal, that's one step too many.

Now there's a single search field pinned to the bottom of the screen, under the thumb. Your client types the food, picks it, and chooses the meal on the confirm sheet afterwards. On a desktop the same field sits at the bottom and results open upward over the day.

A few other things changed with it:

- Log again. Results are grouped Recent first, so anything a client has logged before is one tap away at the portion they used last time.
- Portions read the way food is sold. Pick the unit first, whether that's grams, millilitres, ounces, or the food's own serving like a slice or a scoop, then the amount. The macros for that exact portion sit above it while they adjust. It uses the same portion rules as your planner, so a serving means the same thing on both sides.
- Tapping a logged entry reopens its portion, so a client who guessed 100g and then weighed it can correct the entry instead of deleting and re-adding.
- Quick add sits next to the search field for anything the library doesn't have.
- Clients can add their own meal sections and their own supplements on top of what you prescribed. The mid-afternoon coffee and biscuit gets logged somewhere real instead of being crammed into lunch.

Supplement rows read like planned food now too. There's a "Log it" on the right that turns into a tick once it's down.

## Barcode scanning is working again

Barcode scanning was blocked by the site's own permissions policy, which meant the camera never started. That's fixed, and a scan now resolves once instead of firing off repeated lookups for the same barcode.

## Custom domains on subdomains

If you point your own domain at your Boost Fitness site, that setup got a lot less fiddly.

You can now use a subdomain, so `**coaching.yourdomain.com**` works as well as `**yourdomain.com**`. The DNS records on screen are the real ones for your account rather than a fixed pair, which matters because they aren't the same for everyone. Verification tells you separately whether your DNS is right and whether the SSL certificate has been issued, so a half-finished setup no longer looks like a failed one. Removing a domain detaches it properly rather than leaving it stuck.

## Fixes and polish

- Clients had to press Sign in twice. The first press worked and then quietly bounced them back to the login form. One press now.
- The meal plan builder lost its bottom pane in Safari on some window sizes.
- Changing your account email now sends a confirmation to both the old and the new address, and both links land back in the app instead of somewhere unhelpful.
- Your client area takes your brand colours on every website template. Before, some templates left parts of the app half-styled.

## Key takeaways

- Fourteen ready-made meal plans are in your Nutrition menu now, eight goal-based and six locked to a calorie and protein target, on the Plus and Pro plans.
- Sixteen new recipes came with them and are in your recipe library to use in your own plans.
- The client food diary is rebuilt around one search field, with recents, tap-to-correct portions, unit-first portion editing, and client-added meal sections and supplements.
- Barcode scanning works again.
- Custom domains now support subdomains, show the right DNS records for your account, and report DNS and certificate status separately.

## Try it on a real client

Pick the plan closest to what one of your clients needs, duplicate it, swap two meals for things they'll actually eat, and assign it. That's a week of nutrition coaching in about five minutes. If you're not coaching on Boost Fitness yet, [**start your free trial**](https://boostfitness.io/register) and you'll find those fourteen plans waiting in the [**nutrition tools**](https://boostfitness.io/features/nutrition) on day one.
