# Import your clients and recipes in one go, save meal days, and see every client's streaks

**Bring your clients, workouts and recipes into Boost from a spreadsheet, PDF or photo. Save a whole day of nutrition and reuse it, send voice notes and scheduled messages in chat, and see each client's streaks on their profile.**

Moving to Boost used to mean an evening of typing. Now you can hand it your old client list, your workout spreadsheets and your recipe notes, and it reads them for you. This release also adds meal days you can save and reuse, voice notes and scheduled messages in chat, smart groups, and a view of every client's streaks.

## Import clients, workouts and recipes

There are three new Import buttons, and they work the same way. Paste some text, or add one file up to 20MB: a spreadsheet, CSV, PDF, Word document, or a photo or screenshot. Boost reads it and shows you what it found. Nothing is saved until you have checked it.

**Clients.** Choose Import clients next to Add client on Clients > Clients. Boost pulls out names, emails and phone numbers, up to 200 people at a time. Anyone who is already your client, or appears twice, is left out for you, and rows that need a fix are flagged before you can import. Only the client comes across, not their history or notes. Invites are off by default, so nobody gets an email until you tick the box or invite them later. New coaches see the same thing as Import a list during setup.

**Workouts.** Programs > Workouts has an Import button next to Add Workout. Write-ups from another app, a coaching spreadsheet with one workout per tab, or a photo of a handwritten page all work, up to 10 workouts in one read. Each exercise is matched to your library and marked Matched, Suggested or New, and you can change any match before saving. Effort comes across too: write @ RPE 8 or RIR 2 on a set and it is kept, and a line like "keep working sets around 1-2 RIR" applies to every working set that doesn't have its own. One workout opens in the builder for you to finish. Several go straight into your library.

**Recipes.** Nutrition > Recipes has an Import button next to Add Recipe. Paste a recipe from your notes or add a photo, PDF or Word file, up to 10 recipes at a time. Each one opens in the recipe editor already filled in, with ingredients, method steps and timers on steps that give a time. Ingredients are matched to foods only when Boost is sure of the match. "Butter" never turns into buttermilk, and a line like "salt to taste" stays as written for you to sort out with Find food. When the file shows the finished dish, the photo usually comes across as the recipe picture.

All three come with every plan from Basic up, including the trial.

## Voice notes and scheduled messages

When the message box is empty, the Send button turns into a microphone. Hold a thought for up to five minutes, listen back, then send it or bin it. Voice notes work in every chat, for you and for your clients, and they play with a waveform and the length shown. Clients can send them anywhere they can already reply.

You can also write a message now and have it go out later. Type it, tap the arrow beside Send and choose Schedule message. Pick a time in 15-minute steps, up to 90 days ahead, or use a quick pick like Tomorrow 07:00. Scheduled messages wait in a strip above the box, where you can edit them, send them early or cancel them. Clients never see the strip, so the Monday-morning nudge just arrives at 7am like you typed it then. Scheduling is text only for now.

[**Photos, videos and files**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/live-workout-sessions-chat-media) work the same as before.

## Meal days you can save and reuse

If you've built the same high-protein training day in five different programmes, this one is for you. Open a day of nutrition, in the programme builder or on a client's calendar, and choose Save to library. Everything on it is saved together: targets, meals and supplements.

Saved days live under Nutrition > Meal Days, with their calories and macros on each one. In the programme builder they appear as Saved meal days on the Nutrition tab, ready to place. In the meal-plan builder there is a Meal Days tab beside Foods, Recipes and Supps. Drop one on a day and it replaces that day, with Undo if you change your mind. A day built per client keeps its rule, so it still works out each client's own numbers.

The meal-plan builder also gets New food, New recipe, New supplement and New meal day rows at the top of each tab. Drag one onto a meal or a day and fill it in. Add it as a one-off, or choose Save to library & add to keep it. Meal Days need the Plus plan.

There's a new Last 7 days card on each client's Nutrition tab, under Daily macros. It charts calories, protein, carbs and fat against target, with a dot on each number for on track, slipping or off, and an average across the days they logged. Today isn't judged until it's over.

## Smart groups and streaks on every client

Clients > Clients has a Smart groups dropdown. A smart group is a set of conditions, like compliance under 50% or not active for 30 days, and it shows whoever matches right now. Nobody is added or removed by hand. Boost checks again every time the list loads, so a client who logs a workout drops out of Not active on their own. The conditions are the same ones [**client automations**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/automated-client-messages-faster-app) use, and you can start from Low compliance, Not active for 30 days or Online clients. Smart groups need the Plus plan and replace saved filters.

Clients have been able to see their [**habit streaks**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/dark-mode-adaptive-calories-client-meal-plans) since the last update. Now you can too, and more of them. A client's Progress tab has a Streaks card showing their workout and check-in streaks, then each habit, with the current run, their best and the last seven times it was due. Their workout streak also shows in the Snapshot on their summary panel. They're the same numbers your client sees, so you're both looking at the same 12.

## In your clients' app

- **Share a trend.** Tap a stat on the Progress page, such as Scale weight, then Share. The card follows the range they picked and comes as a Story or a Post. Show my numbers can be turned off, which hides the actual values but keeps the change and the line.
- **Share progress photos.** In the photo viewer's Compare mode there's now a Share button. Nothing is uploaded, to us or to you, and their weight stays off the card unless they switch it on. Like every share card, it carries your brand, not ours.
- **Pick the check-in day.** Clients running a [**calorie goal**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/dark-mode-adaptive-calories-client-meal-plans) can move its weekly check-in to any day.
- **Browse foods before typing.** The meal planner's food picker now lists your items, then their own foods, then the whole food library, before they type a word.
- **Logging stats on a phone.** Log entry opens a phone sheet with a week strip for the date, a swipeable row of stats and a big stepper that starts from their last entry.

## On your side

- **Two-step login.** Turn it on under Account > Security. You'll be asked for a six-digit code from an authenticator app after your password, so a stolen password alone can't get in. Add a backup authenticator on a second device in case you lose your phone. It's for coaches for now.
- **Exercises by any name.** Your exercises can now carry other names under Also known as. Add RDL to your Romanian deadlift and searching RDL finds it, in your library, in the workout builder and in your clients' exercise search.
- **Anytime workouts.** The workout card on a client's Training tab is now called Anytime workouts, and it says that dated workouts live on the calendar.

## Faster under the hood

We did another round of speed work behind the scenes. Boost now does less work every time you or a client opens a page, so pages and lists load quicker, and the difference grows the more clients you have. Nothing changes about who can see what. It follows on from [**the speed work in September**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/automated-client-messages-faster-app).

## Fixes and polish

- Any-day workouts are no longer marked Missed before their window closes. A week of flexible sessions assigned on Tuesday used to look missed by Wednesday.
- Creating a programme or meal plan while viewing a folder now files it in that folder.
- Editing an exercise shows the images already on it, and you can remove them.
- Typing % or \_ in a library search box no longer returns everything.
- Accepting an invite on an email that already has an account no longer asks for a password it then ignores.
- Deleting a saved habit from the programme builder's library rail now deletes it.
- The Discounts page says to reconnect Stripe when the connection has broken, instead of asking a paying coach to upgrade.
- A coach whose plan has lapsed can now pick a plan straight from the dashboard instead of going round in a loop.

## Key takeaways

- **Import does the typing.** Clients, workouts and recipes come in from a spreadsheet, PDF, Word file or photo, and you check everything before it's saved.
- **Chat got two new tools.** Voice notes up to five minutes, and text messages scheduled up to 90 days ahead.
- **Build a day once.** Save a day of nutrition to Meal Days and drop it into any programme or meal plan.
- **See who's on a run.** Smart groups find the clients who need you, and the Streaks card shows who's keeping it going.
- **A quicker app.** More speed work behind the scenes, and the more clients you have, the more you'll notice it.

## **Dark mode, calorie targets that adjust themselves, and meal plans your clients build**

Your dashboard and your clients' app now have a dark mode. Clients can set a calorie goal that re-checks itself every week, build their own meal plans and send them to you, and you can work calories out per client instead of per plan.
