# Habits that log a number, your schedule in your own calendar, and client emails in your words

**Link a habit to a metric so it ticks itself, put timed sessions into Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar, write the emails your clients receive, and see personal bests, workout photos and course discounts.**

Most of this release is about the small daily things. A habit can count millilitres instead of ticks. A session can sit at 7am in your own calendar. The email a client gets when you assign a workout can be in your words rather than ours. Underneath that there are personal bests your clients can see, six photos on a workout, discounts on your courses, and a long list of fixes.

## Habits that log a number

Until now a habit was a box to tick, with an optional label such as "8 glasses" that nothing counted. A habit now has four ways to track: Tick, Count, Time and Metric. The first three are what they always were. Metric links the habit to something you already measure, like water, steps or sleep, or any custom metric you have defined for a client.

Your client logs the number instead of ticking a box. Their home screen shows the habit with a quick-add pill, so 250 ml of water is one tap, and opening the habit gives them a field for the day's total. The habit ticks itself the moment the day reaches the target. Targets are at least or at most, so 2,000 ml of water and a resting heart rate under 60 both work, and a reading-type metric such as heart rate skips the pill and opens the number field instead.

The number goes where the rest of their tracking lives. A [**goal on the same metric**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/goals-client-workspace) and their Progress page see it without anyone logging it twice. If the client already has a goal on that metric, the editor offers its target for the habit with a warning when the directions disagree, and a switch sets a daily goal beside the habit when there is none yet. The editor also previews the row the client will see before you save. A flexible "3 times this week" habit can link too, and check-in reviews and the calendar export carry the logged value against the target.

Goals were rebuilt at the same time. You pick the metric first, from a grid that says what feeds each one ("From weigh-ins", "You log this one"), and the editor then reads the goal back to you as a sentence, such as keep Emma's calories near 2,400 kcal, every week. Six abstract controls never told a coach what they had just built; this does. A repeating goal now asks how often it has to be met: every day, week or month. It used to save as daily whatever you meant.

## Your schedule in your own calendar

Every calendar item can carry a time. Add one to a workout, habit, nutrition day, note, check-in or activity, or to an item in the program builder, and timed items sit at the top of the day in time order with a time chip on the card. Items without a time behave exactly as before. There is a 12-hour or 24-hour setting under Account > Configuration, and your clients can put a time on the sessions they start themselves.

Once things have times they can live in your real calendar. The Calendar sync card on Account > Integrations generates a private link. Subscribe to it from Google, Apple or Outlook Calendar and every client's schedule appears there, with timed items as events and the rest as all-day entries. The link is shown once, and you can regenerate it or turn the feed off from the same card. Your clients get the same on their Account page for their own plan.

Calendar apps refresh on their own timetable. Google can take up to 24 hours to show a change, so the feed is for seeing your week at a glance, not for checking what you scheduled five minutes ago.

## Client emails in your own words

Account > Emails lists the emails your clients get from your site: client invitation, workout assigned, form assigned, course access and the course payment link. Each one takes your own subject line and a personal message, which can use the client's name and your site name. A button sends a preview to your own inbox so you see it the way a client will, with your branding and your message in place.

Workout assigned is new. It goes out when you assign a workout or deploy a programme, one email per client per action, and it is the one email on the list you can switch off, because it is a courtesy rather than a link the client needs.

The away notice has moved to the Chat page. Turn it on and your clients see it at the top of their thread with you, with a small plane on your row in their conversation list. It no longer goes into any email.

## Personal bests your clients can see

Records have been banked automatically since the [**client app rebuild**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/client-app-rebuilt) in August, four per exercise. Now they show. A set that beats a record gets a trophy in the logger as it happens, and the save screen lists each record with the improvement over the old one. The day gets a star on the home screen, the Progress tab gets a PBs tile with recent bests, and a Personal bests page lists every standing record by exercise, baselines included.

On your side, a client's Activity tab has a PBs filter, the workout detail lists the records a session set, and your bell rings when a client sets one.

## Six photos or videos on a workout

A client can attach up to six photos or videos to a finished workout, at up to 100 MB each, from the Save Workout screen. You see them in the workout detail, and they join a Progress pics gallery on the client's Progress tab alongside the [**photos they submit in a check-in**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/body-stats-progress-photos) or log with their body stats, newest first. The same gallery is on their Progress page, so a form-check video and a progress photo are in one place instead of two.

## Discounts on your courses

Website > Discounts is where you create discounts on your own Stripe account and hand out promo codes for them. A discount covers every paid course you sell, and a course can also go on sale, which shows the struck-through price on your website, on the course landing page and at the checkout. It needs a paid plan and a connected Stripe account, the same one [**your courses already sell through**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/sell-and-assign-courses-to-clients).

Stripe fixes a discount's amount, duration, expiry and limits once it exists and only ever lets the name change, so the page asks you to confirm before it creates one.

## Clients at a glance

The clients list has a Compliance column: each client's workout adherence over the last 30 days, with the completed and scheduled counts and a traffic light. It is the same number their workspace shows, so 18% on the list is 18% when you click through. A client with nothing scheduled shows a dash rather than a red zero, because someone who was never given a programme is not your worst offender.

Clients Overview has a What's on panel beside the metrics: today, this week or the fortnight across every client, filtered by type, with each row opening the item. The Assignments column on Programs and Meal Plans opens a list of who has the plan now and who had it before. Removing a programme a client has logged moves it to Previous programmes on their Training tab, where Assign again puts it back from a date you choose, and the Changes filter on their Activity tab lists everything you have added or removed, so "where has my programme gone" has an answer.

The Nutrition tab in a client's workspace leads with a Daily macros card, so you can read and change a day's targets without opening the calendar. And the notification bell says you have three new messages instead of one row per conversation, clearing when you read them. Your clients get the same on their bell.

## On your side

The workout builder has a draggable divider between the library and the workout, a grid view with a still from each exercise's video, and on a phone a single Add to workout button. On a phone you can also type an exact value into any set field instead of tapping a stepper, rest moves in 15-second steps, and the row menu moves an exercise into or out of a section, supersets it with its neighbour, splits a superset or removes it. Those were desktop-only gestures before, which is why a phone could not fill a section.

Blog posts are written in a full-screen composer with the settings in a side rail and a live preview, and a post is saved as a draft, published now or scheduled. Meal-plan day headers are a Daily targets tile showing each macro against its target, and it opens the targets editor. Archived courses have their own filter on Website > Courses, with Restore, and course access you granted by hand can be removed from the client's Training tab.

Smaller things: exercise library filters narrow each other, so picking a muscle only offers equipment that goes with it. Adding a saved workout to an empty calendar workout fills in its name, colour and icon. Links pasted into [**chat**](https://boostfitness.io/blog/live-workout-sessions-chat-media) are clickable on both sides. The Team section takes a one-column layout for a team of one. A client's Nutrition tab leads with calories eaten against target, and their home screen shows each habit's own icon.

## Fixes and polish

- Add Nutrition on a day that already has targets opens them for editing instead of failing with Already exists.
- A new meal plan no longer loses its draft when the site takes a moment to load.
- Editing an existing habit failed validation on fields you could not see. It saves.
- The day add and paste buttons in the program builder show on an iPad.
- Rep-range steppers on a phone wrap instead of running off the screen, and Discard on the Save Workout screen stays above the browser toolbar.
- A bare number typed into a rest or duration field is seconds, on every screen. One of them read it as minutes.
- The exercise library had two Machines, one with a trailing space, and 24 other duplicate spellings. They are merged.
- The ready-made recipe library had 843 ingredients matched to the wrong food, Water as watermelon and Butter as buttermilk among them, and every recipe set to four servings. Both are fixed and per-serving calories are recalculated.
- Searching saved workouts by category matched nothing. It does now.
- Exercises added to a saved workout get their default sets straight away, so a workout you never expanded no longer reaches a client with empty sets.
- Every modal Save shows it is working, so a slow save cannot be clicked twice.
- Granting a course a client already has explains why instead of saying Already exists.
- Billing portal branding under Website settings saves again after the first save.
- A slow lookup no longer serves the wrong site on a coach's custom domain.

## Key takeaways

- **A habit can log a number.** Link it to a metric, set an at least or at most target, and it ticks itself when the client's day reaches it. The value feeds their goals and Progress page.
- **Timed items sync to Google, Apple and Outlook Calendar.** Give items a time, generate a private link on Account > Integrations, and your whole client schedule appears in your own calendar.
- **Five client emails take your subject line and personal message**, with a preview to your inbox, and the new workout assigned email is the one you can switch off.
- **Personal bests, workout photos and course discounts are visible now.** Clients see their records and up to six photos per workout; you see them on the client's Progress tab; and Website > Discounts puts a course on sale.
